Breton Stripes – Spring 2010

Breton Stripes or Nautical Stripes have been around forever.  It’s always present in Resort Collections year in and out as we spend days in the sun on the beach and on sea.  In the past year, it has been a resurrected look on the streets especially after how we’re reminded that Coco Chanel brought the stripes into the mainstream when the movie Coco Before Chanel came out in late 2009.

There’s no better way to get the authentic French Breton Stripes for your kid’s fashionable closet this Spring than Petit Bateau (for moms, women’s mariniere top can be had at $88).

If you’re willing to “invest” a little bit more (emphasis on the more) on this look, you can always count on Jean Paul Gaultier to have quite a few striped pieces included in his Junior Gaultier’s current collection.  Just look at this cute skirt!

I’m loving the Gaultier skirt! Would their biggest size fit me? Hahahah! Natalia has a striped shirt from Zara but since it’s still a wee bit big, she wore it as a dress with tights and a motorcyle jacket (also from Zara) when we went to Hongkong a month ago. :)

Isn’t that skirt just perfect? It would be a great piece even for moms to take to the beach, if only it comes in our sizes! I haven’t checked.

Way to work on the oversized shirt as a dress! I’m sure you’ve got a photo of Natalia from that trip in that outfit? ;)

Of course! Photo ops are always required with Natalia hahaha! She even demands for it!
